A quote from Stevie Nicks below:
I think there is definitely a God. I think there was definitely an angel with me all the way through the bad times. Somebody keeping me safe. I feel very spiritual now. I really believe that God makes my music good and makes me able to deliver it and makes me able to not look or feel fifty. I mean, there has to be some outside help-this can't all be happening on its own.

It's disturbing that such a great performance would illicit the kinds of text showing up here. You guys need to talk off stage, you're ruining the atmosphere here.

"Let's just sit back and enjoy this beautiful song."
With that, I can only agree.
:O)
I wish you could get this on a DVD!
I had a snip of it on video, one time long ago.

Okay, no need to get touchy. I just thought I would point out how Welsh Witch came about. There's no point in arguing about this; you're entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to mine.
Let's just sit back and enjoy this beautiful song.

"If she denies she is a Wiccan MANY MANY times, then obviously she isn't."
Now who's being literal?
She wouldn't be the first person deny something it's not expedient to practice!
I'm well aware of the origins of her publishing company name, thank you.
However, she did bring a very Pagan offering to the Say You Will sessions!
Maybe she just plays the role, but, again, who cares,so long as it inspires those of us who believe?
Plenty of non Christian artists have done the same!

I noticed how you missed off the 'half of the time' bit of my comment so it made your argument stronger. And she does use a lot of metaphors in her work... 'undoing the laces' for this song... use your imagination.
Welsh Witch Music comes from the song Rhiannon. If she denies she is a Wiccan MANY MANY times, then obviously she isn't.
But I agree, it doesn't matter. It only annoys me how people say she's a witch when she so strongly denies it.

"the way she uses these images are as metaphors, and therefore not supposed to be taken literally"
Says who?
I'll bet that most of us, who are, "that way inclined" have taken the lyrics to be literal..especially when someone's publishing company is "Welsh Witch Music"..you can't get much more "literal" than that!
But, what does it matter?..which is the point I was trying to make, many Pagan people have taken something from her imagery!
Many "Christians" may take offence!

They are, but anyone could write a song about witches and things. Just because you write a song with these sorts of things, doesn't necessarily mean you ARE a witch or whatever. Half of the time, the way she uses these images are as metaphors, and therefore not supposed to be taken literally.

"She's never been a witch or a wiccan... she strongly denies this. It's a misconception because of the song 'Rhiannon'"
Yet, her lyrics are laden with pagan imagery, such as "Sister Of The Moon!"
Whatever, I agree, this song along with many of her other efforts, is sublime, but it's Lindsey's guitar work here that really pulls this live performance together.

This sounds awesome, but uhm, weren't those the days of high drug & alcohol abuse ;-)? |
