I had a break-up a few years ago and I keep, thinking about him and I did not know why, even listening to this song time and time again did not give me the answer, until I read your comment and it spelt it out for me. Thank you, now I know that 'In My Mind' he'll always be my baby! and Thank you Heather for explaining it so eloquently!

I love this song! It's amazing how different peoples reactions are to this song and how they interpert what Heather is saying... and that' s all good. But you can only really have a valid opinion when you have been hurt. I have been hurt just recently and after four years, its hard to believe that it could just be over. Maybe it is...but in my mind the will always be my baby. Thank you Heather for creating this song!

I remember when this song cam out. I remember the guy I was seeing and how our relationship fell completely apart. I remember how unforgiving I was and how understanding I was not! This song brings back every memory of that semester, every ounce of pain and every minute of heartache! In my mind, things happen for a reason and apparently we were not meant to be, BUT there is a part of my heart that is going to be in love with him for the rest of my life. I hope he is doing well!
