Even if it is a pump fake or a tuck, the rule book can not consider the intent of the passer.
therefore if the arm is moving forward and leaves the hand it is an incomplete pass.

2001 Raiders vs Pats in NE, Tuck Rule in the Divisional rd.
Brady was hit by Woodson and was pulling the ball down when he lost it.
it appeared to be a fumble the Raiders recovered with little time on the clock and a 3 point lead.
They ruled that becasue Brady was tucking the ball the arm is still moving forward which makes it an incomplete pass regradless of his intent.
Pats tie game on a FG go to OT and win on a FG. |
