Celine's version was indeed lovely and she took it to #4 in 1996, but in 1976 Eric's original hit went to #2! It actually went all the way to #1 on Cash Box.

The answer to this song was "She Did It," the follow-up Top 40 hit which Eric released on his next LP in 1977, "Boats Against the Current." It starts out, "I set to sea on a ship called emptiness, cast away on the island of loneliness, looking for love..." Check it out!
