I have been trying to teach my 2 year old Labrador/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix play dead and she doesnt really seem to want to learn it. Once she lies on her side she doesnt want to get back up and do it again.I try to make it more exciting but she doesnt seem to care. It's the only trick she isnt enthusiastic about learning. She knows all the basics like sit, drop ect. I have only had her for 7 months and I taught her beg, leave it, over and touch it. I would love to teach her spin and play dead.

why do you always use alpha when you teach the tricks?

Oh, I forgot she also knows shake/high five; "shy"(hides her face under paw); and "dance" (not dancing on hind legs but dancing by shaking her butt, lol) xD

I've been noticing she seems bored or unstimulated lately cuz she likes learning new things so I'm in need of some new ideas. She's really smart & learns fast, I know she has so much more potential. She's way too intelligent of a dog for me to let her potential stop here, & that's what I feel like I'm doing if I don't get some new ideas for us. I'm subscribing to your channel, my puppy and I thank you very much for your help in your videos!(already watched a few right before this one) :)

Very good! I watched 4 play dead command, & learned I had taught my GoldenR 2 roll over wrong! She does it well, but she always seems unhappy 2 do it. Now I understand, I'll reteach her w/your technique. Her tricks are the basics plus she can balance treats on her nose; hold/release; sit pretty; dings a bell on doorknob w/nose 2 let me know she needs 2 go out; & our favorite:"find the remote" xD She understands communcation well cuz knows more 'commands' than what we've done w/training. cont...

Great video! My daugther is trying to teach our 4 year old lab how to nod his head yes. He can already sit, stay, lay down, curl, come, drop a ball, speak, slap us five (or give paw), balance a treat on his nose and ring the bell when he wants to go outside. I have to admit, I've tried to teach him to rollover and it ended up with me trying to roll him over myself. It didn't go over so well! lol Thanks so much for the great tips!

This video is great! I have a 4 month old Jack Russell and he learned to do both the BANG! (aka play dead) and rollover in (I kid you not) about 15 minutes... incredible!

My dog is an 8 months old shih tzu pup. I got him when he was 5 mnths old. So far i've taught him sit, paw, lie down, roll over, stand, high five and jump. That's a total of 7. :) He's a quick learner. I teach him a trick in a day. The key is consistency.
