I love this song by Del Shannon! I was really shocked to learn he shot himself shortly after he started taking Prozac (suicide is listed as a possible side effect of this prescription drug). It's really ironic (and very sad) that something a person takes for depression could cause them to take their own life. I feel bad because of the way Del's life ended but I'm glad he experienced the joy of success when his song was appreciated and enjoyed by millions of people around the world. *****

I'm with you all the way Tweetygirl. There's so much crap out there and when you mention Del Shannon to some mutant and then have to explain who he was it's maddening. I've also had to do the same thing with Dick Dale, and even the concept of Rockabilly. Keep Rockin' Babe! |
