What you dont see is that the audience applauded so loud and so long that the conductor repeated the auria. They held their position and understood the cue from their maistro. My father requested and heard this Va Pensiero many times as he was on his hospice bed. We can't hear it without thinking of his appreciation of this masterpiece and this exact performance. Bravo.
