I don't doubt you, I KNOW you can't do it.
Every "ham" operator I've ever met who bragged about such impossible speeds always failed to prove it.
You hams just don't know what you're talking about. You are right about one thing. I'm not going to argue with you. Last post from me on this subject.

Well I said that I could copy at 40 on paper and up to 80 in my head...if you choose to doubt me your free to do so. I 'm not going to start blowing my own horn how how well I used to copy near 30 yrs ago or how well I copy now. Code is a pleasure to operate for all CW Ops. Makes no difference if your an Army Op, Navy Op or a Ham OP. 10wpm to 80wpm its all good. Go check out a local ham club, you will meet a few fellas that do 40plus Im sure and they would be happy to give you a demo.

McElroy CHEATED. He knew the text before the test.

Hi joeearles,
Sorry OM, but dsfigmk is absolutely correct. If you think you can copy 80 WPM, then you are mistaken. You don't know what 80 WPM is.

morse does rock!

I have a program that will spit out Morse code up to 80 WPM. At that speed, you'd have to be a dolphin to discern spacing between dits and dahs, much less distinguish a dit from a dah. I'll do a little research, but it's going to be hard to convince me that 140 WPM is even humanly possible. But if you can really do it...cool!

I was a morse intercept operator in the Army. A person who could copy 30, 5 character group/mn was considered very good. This was with correct format, spacing, etc. I don't believe he can copy so far behind that he cando 143 wpm. I am very sceptical. 143 characters/mn is pretty easy. My son take online typing tests that says he an type 64 wpm. No way he can do that.

i only know the alphabet. numbers, periods, commas, etc... still learning it. ill get there slowly but surely.
morse code will survive cos some will always use it to communicate. trust me on this one.
