As a current Thoroughbred Jockey, I have most admiration for this AMAZING ATHLETE! horses that we ride usually take atleast a month and a half off inbetween races. Secretariat ran 3 races in 5 weeks with the BEST horses in the world. VERY FEW HORSES have EVER won the Triple Crown. What is even MORE crazy is the fact, that this athlete Won by 31 lenghs.(length is one horse, nostrils, to tail) This has NEVER been seen and I will take to my death on the track (lol) that it will NEVER be seen again!

I'm jealous!!! I heard that the tape doesn't give away how defeaning the cheering was that day when Secretariat came around the stretch. You are SO lucky to have been there that day!

They reckon he got the world record for the length of this race plus a furlong (think 11 or 13 furlongs in total) if you include the furlong pulling up.

What an amazing achievement. The shot at 2:35 is so powerful where Secretariat leaves the screen and no other horse is seen for four seconds. That was total domination. I just wish I was alive to see that. Thank you cf1970 for all your videos!!

I always admired Sham and Riva Ridge. They were in Secretariat's shadow.
