Here they are in a scene from 1980, playing Beethoven's Minuet in G. Telly's character was in early stages of development at this point, which explains his weird voice and awkward punchline.

Was this the very first time we got to see Telly playing the tuba?

Why did he say "It'll never happen again"?

Family Legend says that I expressed the desire to play the violin (I switched to viola when I was eight) because of seeing Itzhak on Sesame Street. It wasn't this bit, because it is from a year after I started playing, but I love this video, and am placing it on my favorites. Thanks to the person who posted it!

Yah, how does he do that? The low note alternates between opposite outer keys as well. What talent!!
XEA6L (July 4, 2008 at 12:57 am)
No it wasn't. Around 1:21 he uses 2 fingerings for the same note.

A virtuoso performance by a renowned concert violinist and a pink monster. Quite the duet.

it's not really Telly playing, was it? it was good pupetting with all the fingerings and stuff

The first time I ever saw Ithzak Perlman was on Sesame Street, playing Partita for Solo Violin. It's the melody used for the video, "You Can Clean Almost Anything," you know, the one that was cut from the Old School video?
