Anyone who lived in New Orleans in the 80s could tell you that Leigh Harris (L'il Queenie) always closed her shows with a very moving version of this song.

Great version. Still, note the slight (but not accudental, it seems) change in the lyrics. Why has the "little fat man" that accompanies President Coolidge been changed to just a "little man"?

sorry to disagree with most previous comments, but it's bland. Nice enough for a 'pub' singer (indeed I'd be glad to hear her in this kind of environment), but so far removed from the original it's a tad excruciating. She misses the notes that give the song poignance. Listen to Randy and you'll see. For a (good) cover try Martin Simpson.
